Pancake & Books Biblioteque opened on Friday, September 11, 2020, on the first floor of the Grand Front Osaka Shop & Restaurant South Building.
“A shop specializing in pancakes with a crispy texture
Pancakes & Books Bibliotheque, a sister restaurant of the popular Cafe & Books Bibliotheque, specializes in pancakes. The pancakes at the store are an evolution of the pancakes that have been popular at Cafe & Books Bibliotheque, and are made with carefully selected ingredients, with a unique texture of crispy and savory on the outside and chunky on the inside, and a milky, rich flavor.
The menu lineup ranges from classic pancakes that can be enjoyed as a meal as well as a dessert to seasonal pancakes made with seasonal flavors.
Pure Butter Pancake
The Pure Butter Pancake is a classic that you have to try at least once. The dough is made simple so that you can feel the taste of each and every ingredient, and the mellow aroma of fermented butter and 100% Canadian maple syrup are a perfect match. Pincklock salt is added as an accent.
Strawberry and Marshmallow Fluffy Brûlée Pancakes
The Strawberry and Marshmallow Fluffy Brûlée Pancake is made with a generous amount of caramelized custard sauce and a cryspy Brûlée. Along with a bittersweet caramel sauce, the top is topped with compatible strawberries and burnt marshmallows.
Whole Peach and Fluffy Fromage Blanc Cream Pancakes
The pancakes with whole peaches and fluffy fromage blanc cream are an eye-catching dish that uses a lavish amount of whole peaches. The lightly creamed fromage blanc and the elegant sweetness of the peaches are a perfect match. You can also enjoy the change in flavor with the refreshing mint anglaise sauce that accompanies it.
The Pancake Burger, a hamburger made with bibliotheque’s signature pancake batter. The burger, with its massive, hand-kneaded patty, melted cheddar cheese, fried egg and tomato, is perfect for lunch or dinner.
One of the most notable items on the drink menu is the Milx-shake, a hybrid of mixed juice and milkshake. Like the pancakes, this milkshake is made with “cherry eggs” from the Kitasaka Chicken Farm on Awaji Island and premium milk from Hamanaka Town in Hokkaido, and mixed juice, a specialty of Osaka. The toppings of vanilla espuma cream and apricot compote are also important.
