The opening of “Children’s Book Forest Nakanoshima”, originally scheduled for March 1, has been postponed for a long time due to COVID-19, but we are pleased to announce that it will finally open on July 5.
Online Advance Booking
In order to prevent the spread of infection, it is necessary to make an advance reservation online for the time being. Advance reservations will be accepted on the facility’s website from June 27 on a first-come, first-served basis. The museum is divided into four 90-minute slots (9:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m., and 3:30 p.m.), with a rotating capacity of 50 people each. A maximum of five people per group is allowed and no adults may register alone.
About infection prevention measures.
In the library, as a measure to prevent COVID-19 infections, the books used are returned to the designated areas and then disinfected and disinfected with ultraviolet light and air blowing. Ventilation of the building, disinfection of equipment when visitors are replaced, hand washing and temperature testing of staff, and the wearing of masks will also be strictly enforced.
It’s cultural facilities
This facility has a collection of 18,000 books, including picture books, children’s books, children’s literature, picture books, natural science books, and art books, as a “facility to nurture children’s creativity through books and arts and culture. Because it is located in a cultural facility rather than a library, the library does not offer book checkouts or research consultations, but you can take books out to read in the adjacent Nakanoshima Park.
It’s going to get hotter from now on, so it may be a little difficult to get outside, but there are plenty of ways to enjoy books inside the facility, so why not enjoy them in the cooler months of the year?
