ASICS introduces limited edition shoes for women and men to commemorate the Tokyo Marathon 2020. It has been released sequentially at various ASICS stores since January 10, 2020 (Friday).
Design inspired by Japanese traditional performing arts
The limited edition shoes that will be featured this time are designs that are inspired by traditional Japanese performing arts and are transformed into ASICS high-performance running shoes. The base model is a long-distance running model “Gel Kayano 26”, in which the shock absorbing material “GEL” mounted on the heel exhibits high cushioning properties, and the duo sole arranged in all the soles provides high grip and moves forward. There are three types: “Tarther Tokyo”, which produces propulsion, and “Glide Ride”, which has a curved sole “Guide Sole” that reduces energy consumption and allows you to experience comfortable walking.
Shoes are available in red, white and black. The powerful appearance of the runner running toward the goal is expressed by giving each color a vibrant color scheme.
The insole also has a graphic image of traditional performing arts. In the center, the letter “TOKYO” in gold is designed.
Limited shoes will be sold in specially designed shoe boxes with pine trees and the characters of Tokyo.
