New York Museum of Modern Art, MoMA Museum Shop “MoMA Design Store Shinsaibashi” will open on Friday, September 20, 2019 on the 4th floor of the main building of Daimaru Shinsaibashi. In line with the grand opening of the Daimaru Shinsaibashi store after the main building rebuilding in 86 years, it will appear as the first store in the Osaka area and the first in the department store.
Changing every day fun and rich!
The Shinsaibashi store will offer innovative quality and design items, collaborative items with popular brands, and pre-sale items ahead of other stores, with the theme of “changing everyday fun and rich.” About 500 items are sold, including a snow dome with “pumpkin” designed by Yayoi Kusama and a limited collaboration bottle of American artist Jean-Michel Basquiat and Corkicle.
The pre-sale items
The pre-sale items include Van Gogh’s Sunflower Object using real sunflowers and Bluetooth speakers with IPX7 durability.
As an opening campaign, non-sold MoMA original tote bags will be presented to the first 1,000 guests who shop at “MoMA Design Store Shinsaibashi” for over 3,000 yen excluding tax.
