In commemoration of the 30th anniversary of “Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon”, Sanrio Characters and the movie version of “Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Eternal” have collaborated for the first time. Prior to the commercialization of the product, a special collaboration design of everyone in matching costumes and make-up has been released ahead of time. The product rollout is planned for the summer of 2022.
Sailor warriors and Sanrio Characters Become “Good Friends” Pair
The visuals, drawn by Sanrio’s designers, are impressive, with the six Sailor warriors and the Sanrio characters paired up in a friendly line. From the Sanrio characters, Hello Kitty, My Melody, Cinnamoroll, Kuromi, Marron Cream, and Pom Pom Pudding are all dressed as Sailor Warrior in their respective image colors.
My Melody x Super Sailor Little Moon
For example, the pink-colored My Melody is paired with Super Sailor Chibi Moon. Melody’s ears are also drawn to be “droopy” to match Super Sailor Chibi Moon’s hairstyle.
Cinnamoroll x Super Sailor Mercury
Cinnamon is paired up with Super Sailor Mercury, a warrior of knowledge with Mercury as her guardian. Look out for Super Sailor Mercury’s costume, which has the same tail as Cinnamon’s.
KUROMI x Super Sailor Mars, etc.
Other special designs unique to the collaboration include a pair of cool-looking Kuromi and Super Sailor Mars, and a pair of Pom Pom Pudding and Super Sailor Venus wearing their trademark bright red ribbons and matching berets. In the future, there will be special projects to commemorate the 30th anniversary as well as commercialization. I’ll let you know if there are any updates!
