Hotel Okura Kyoto has introduced a new sweet plate, “Kyo no Natsu Matsuri Plate -2022-,” which will be served at the 1st floor cafe “Lec-Court” from July 1 (Fri.) to August 31 (Wed.), 2022.

Sweets plate expressing “Summer in Kyoto”

The “Kyoto Summer Festival Plate” was first introduced in 2021 as a sweet plate that expresses Kyoto’s summer traditions. This year, a new design based on the image of the Gion Festival Yamahoko-junko procession will appear.

The plate features mini parfaits, cookies in the shape of a fan, and strawberry mousse in the shape of a yo-yo. The mini parfaits, in particular, are gorgeous, with layers of lemon slices, peach compote, berry sauce, and other ingredients that resemble wheels, topped with a florentine cake that looks like the “maki” of a Yamaboko float.
