New “Chilled Kyo Waffle” in One-Handed Sweets Kyo Waffle
Kyo-Cafe Chacha, which sells Kyo Waffle, a popular one-handed sweet, now offers a summer-only “chilled, chilly Kyo Waffle. The Kyo Waffle, which is usually eaten warm, has been arranged to be eaten cold, making it the perfect hot summer treat. A different flavor will be available each month from June to September 2022.
June limited “Refreshing Lemon Flavor”.
The first product to be introduced is the “Chilled Kyo Waffle – Lemon”, available only in June. Inspired by the traditional French lemon cake “Weekend Citron,” it is made with plenty of lemon for a fresh and fruity taste.
The classic Kyo waffle batter with large grains of pomelo is filled with lemon juice and grated lemon peel. It is coated with a sweet and sour icing with lemon juice, and finished with a luxurious topping of dried lemon and pistachios.
By refrigerating the waffle until just before eating, one can enjoy the “crispy” texture of the lemon-flavored icing and the “moist” texture of the Kyoto waffle.
