The Westin Sendai will offer summer-only shaved ice, “Summer Ice: Fruits & Fromage,” from July 16 (Sat) to August 31 (Wed), 2022.
Summer-Specific Shaved Ice at The Westin Sendai
The Westin Sendai’s shaved ice, available only during this season, is a special combination of natural ice made from the nature of the majestic Zao mountain range, summer fruits, and crème d’orange. A total of three types of shaved ice featuring melon, mango, and peach, each of which is in season, will be added to the menu lineup for a limited time only.

The “Melon,” for example, is shaved ice made from a whole melon with pulp and puree. The melon bowl is heaped with shaved ice made of natural ice and topped with a generous amount of two types of melon: red flesh melon with a rich sweet taste and green flesh melon with a clean, refreshing flavor. The melon is topped with crème d’Anjou, a cheesecake originating in the Anjou region of France, creating a refreshing summer dish full of fruitiness.
The eye-catching “peach,” with its lovely baby pink color, uses two types of peaches that change depending on the season: top-grade brand peaches from Yamanashi Prefecture “Kasugai peaches” in July, and peaches from Fukushima Prefecture, which are also used as gifts, in early August. Sliced lime, peel, and refreshing crème d’orange complement the rich sweetness of the ripe peaches.
