Romantic “Tanabata Afternoon Tea”
Hotel Gajoen Tokyo will hold a romantic afternoon tea to coincide with Tanabata, one of Japan’s five seasonal festivals. Special sweets only for the Tanabata season will be prepared using fruits that are in season in summer, such as watermelon, mango, and figs.
The tea stand features “Mango Sasa Yokan” wrapped in bamboo leaves, “Watermelon and Coconut Tart” with its irresistible crispy tart dough, and “Lychee and Raspberry Macaroon” in pale pink color. Scones, a staple of afternoon tea, are flavored with figs for a taste that evokes the season.
The savory dishes served with the sweets are colorful and visually appealing, such as Temari Sushi with smoked salmon and summer vegetable ario aurio. A luxurious plan including a glass of champagne is also available for an elegant tea time.
Hikoboshi & Orihime non-alcoholic cocktails are also available.
The New American Grill “Canade Terrace,” the venue for the event, will also offer a limited time only “Tanabata Non-Alcohol Cocktail,” a drink with a Tanabata motif. The lovely drinks named “HIKOBOSHI” and “ORIHIME” are also gorgeous to the eye.
