Ryusuke Fukahori’s exhibition “Goldfish ban Nihonbashi” will be held from July 27 (Wed) to August 8 (Mon), 2022 at the Nihombashi Mitsukoshi main store, Honkan, 7th floor, Event Hall, Tokyo.

Realistic Goldfish” exhibition by Ryusuke Fukahori
Ryusuke Fukahori is a contemporary artist who creates works on the theme of “goldfish. The main characteristics of “Fukahori Goldfish” are the thinness of the fins, the transparency of the scales, and the flow of the water, all of which are realistic and superbly crafted to resemble real goldfish.
The artist uses a unique technique called “2.5D painting. The artist pours resin into a container, paints goldfish on the hardened surface with acrylic paint little by little, and then layers the resin on top of the painted goldfish to create goldfish art that “looks as if they are alive.

For the first time, Ryusuke Fukahori’s works were sold extensively at the exhibition “Goldfish Liberation Nihonbashi”. About 40 works, including “Ark 2,” in which countless goldfish swim, “Goldfish Sake Named Suzunatsu,” in which a goldfish is placed in a square, and “Autumn Shiki,” in which goldfish appear to be swimming in the autumn leaves, will be exhibited.
During the period, there will also be experiential contents such as live painting by Fukahori and sales of “goldfish” related products.
