“Japanese Afternoon Tea (Hama Chazen)” Autumn version

The Kahala Hotel & Resort, Yokohama’s 3rd floor “Japanese Cuisine Hama” is offering a new autumn menu for its Japanese afternoon tea (Hama Chazen). The menu features a variety of delicious autumnal delicacies such as Japanese chestnuts and sweet potatoes, and is both pleasing to the eye and delicious to eat.

Gourmet plate “Autumn Leaf Pickup” with a “treasure hunt” sensation

One of the most popular items is a plate titled “Autumn Leaf Pickup,” which is inspired by the image of fallen leaves in autumn. Inside the crispy sweet potato chips, which resemble fallen leaves, are hidden a variety of colorful dishes that are like “autumn treasures.

The dish includes a half-boiled quail egg with a “persimmon-like appearance” coated with a coating of umotan, a small sweet potato resembling a kinoko, and smoked scallops marinated in a soy sauce sauce.

Sweets packed with the flavors of autumn

The sweets plate is also packed with the tastes of autumn. The menu includes Japanese chestnuts wrapped in gyuhi, chestnut chakin (tea towel squeezed with back-strained chestnuts), and large-sized cheinmuscat produced in Okayama Prefecture.

“Hamatebako” with the image of the Japanese garden “Sankeien”

In addition, “Hama Tebako,” a specialty of “Japanese Cuisine Hama,” inspired by the Japanese garden “Sankeien” in Yokohama, is also available with a variety of autumnal flavors. The two-tiered stacked boxes will feature dried sweets in the shape of autumn leaves, chocolate blocks resembling moss-covered rocks, saikyo-yaki flavored cream cheese sandwiched in the middle, and “konnyaku brick stew” in the image of the red brick Bashamichi.
