And today we pick up from Tenjinbashi-suji Shopping Street, the longest shopping street in Japan! Let me just recap for you…Tenjinbashi-suji Shopping Street” is the longest shopping street in Japan. It is 2.6km from north to south and has about 600 shops in a row. It is said that the shops originally gathered along the approach to Osaka Tenmangu Shrine and later developed into a shopping district. And Tenjinbashi-suji Shopping Street is a notable spot where many delicious restaurants are gathered.
① A big tonkatsu (pork cutlet) is on top, so it’s hearty! “MORDEN”
1 minute walk from Tenma Station. Morden is a long-established cafe and dining bar located in a corner of the North Shopping Street in Tenjinbashi-suji 4-chome. It is located in the middle of the Tenjinbashi-suji shopping arcade, about 100 meters north of JR Tenma station. The interior has a nostalgic Showa-era atmosphere, making it feel like a true “coffee shop”.
Waraji Napolitan

Waraji means a straw sandal. As you can see in the picture, it was named because the pork cutlet on top of the Neapolitan looks like a straw sandal. Neapolitan and a straw sandal-sized pork cutlet on a black iron plate. The sizzling sound of the Neapolitan on the teppan will whet your appetite. It’s a great value for money for less than 1,000 yen and 800 yen for the full volume!

The 5-chome area of Tenjinbashi-suji Shopping Street is a popular area for sushi restaurants in Osaka. Especially on Saturdays and Sundays, you have to be prepared to line up and worry about the selection of shops. Our recommendation is “Gontaro Sushi Tenroku”, which has a clean and polite atmosphere.

The daily lunch special is a bargain at 650 yen. Since it’s a daily special, the menu items vary depending on the day, but I also appreciate the fact that they have a board in front of the restaurant with the daily specials for lunch written in Japanese only. But maybe it’s fun not to know what will come out. It is a popular local restaurant for its delicious sushi at reasonable prices.

③ It’s very popular locally! “Jizakana (local fish) Nigiri Tottsan Sushi Tenjinbashi”
There’s another sushi restaurant, but if you’re having lunch in Tenjinbashi-suji shopping arcade, out of all the famous restaurants, this one is a must-know! The best place to say that is “Nigiri Tottsan Sushi Tenjimbashi”.
This sushi restaurant is popular among locals for its delicious sushi at a reasonable price, but it also has a great price for lunch. As you can see from the picture, the menu is displayed in front of the shop with pictures, so even if you don’t understand Japanese, it’s easy to find what you want to eat!
Maguro Nakaochi Tororo Don

It’s only 650 yen, but you can see the volume of the dish is overwhelming. What’s more, lunch comes with red miso soup! It also comes with dashi, which can be eaten as ochazuke (rice with tea) if you like. The taste is, of course, outstandingly good, which is more than the right price. 2 minutes walk from Osaka Tenmangu Shrine. I would definitely recommend it.
