The 22nd of every month is “Shortcake Day,” designated because the 15th (ichigo = strawberry) falls on top of the 22nd on the calendar. Every month, Cafe comme ca offers a limited edition shortcake named after this day.
This time, there are two kinds of menu items. The “Strawberry and Chocolate Custard Cream Shortcake” is a shortcake that combines the best strawberries of the day with chocolate custard cream. Enjoy the combination of sweet and sour strawberries and rich chocolate.
On the other hand, the “Shiroichigo (White Strawberry) and Custard Cream Shortcake” uses plenty of “Shiroichigo (White Strawberry),” which is characterized by its low acidity and gentle sweetness, throughout the cake. The rich custard cream enhances the taste of the rare white strawberries.
