From CONVERSE TOKYO, a socks set perfect for Valentine’s & White Day gifts has appeared. It will be sold at Converse Tokyo stores from February 1, 2020 (Sat). Converse Tokyo is only located in Umeda’s LUCUA in Osaka.
*White Day is a day that is marked in Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, Myanmar, Cambodia, and China on March 14, one month after Valentine’s Day.
Valentine’s Day in countries which observe White Day is typically observed by girls and women presenting chocolate gifts (either store-bought or handmade), usually to boys or men, as an expression of love, courtesy, or social obligation.
On White Day, the reverse happens: men who received a honmei-choco (本命チョコ, ‘chocolate of love’) or giri-choco (義理チョコ, ‘courtesy chocolate’) on Valentine’s Day are expected to return the favor by giving gifts.
Design inspired by chocolate
The socks set released by Converse Tokyo on Valentine’s & White Day has a chocolate-inspired design. A box with a star pattern is packed with socks with the brand icon star deformed greatly and two socks with a design that melts chocolate from the mouth.
The chocolate that melts from the socks is a spicy black color that can be enjoyed in unisex. As two kinds of socks are set, you can enjoy asymmetry coordination by combining both designs one foot at a time.
Available in two colors, off-white, reminiscent of white chocolate, and mocha, reminiscent of milk chocolate. Chocolate-colored socks are likely to be a playful Valentine’s Day & White Day gift. Of course, it will be a little cute souvenir.
