Cake.jp has collaborated with the anime “ONE PIECE” (ONE PIECE) to produce a “Gum-Gum Fruit Cake” which will be on sale from May 5, 2022 (Thursday). The price is 13,000 yen [tax included].
Gum-Gum Fruit Cake
The TV anime “ONE PIECE” is a boys’ manga series by Eiichiro Oda that began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump on July 22, 1997. It is a maritime adventure romance featuring Monkey D. Luffy, a boy who dreams of becoming a pirate king, and his quest for the “One Piece” (the Greatest Treasure of All Japan).
Cake.jp is collaborating with the “ONE PIECE” TV anime to sell the “Gum-Gum Fruit Cake,” which is the basis for the main character “Monkey D. Luffy’s” ability to expand and contract like rubber. The cake will feature Marugoto Melon Cake, a Cake.jp original product that has sold a total of more than 30,000 units and is making a big impact.
Marugoto (Whole) Melon Cake, as the name suggests, is made from a whole muskmelon, and when cut, the cake appears as a surprise sweet. This time, the surface of the cake is colored with a distinctive purple color to express the arabesque pattern of the rind, in pursuit of a realistic “Gum-Gum Fruit” look. Inside is a homemade fluffy sponge cake, melon-flavored whipped cream, muskmelon pulp, and strawberries carefully layered in a mille-feuille-like shape.
