adidas Originals’ unisex “Stan Smith” sneakers are now available in a Japan-exclusive “JAPAN SMU” model, which will be available at Mitas Sneakers stores and other retailers from June 24, 2022 (Friday).
A minimalist pair with “glaze” as the key color.
The Japan-exclusive “JAPAN SMU” model of the Stan Smith is a minimalist pair in neutral colors with glaze as the key color. The iconic portrait on the tongue, the model name on the side, and the signature on the heel tab are embossed in a subtle manner.
Updating a classic sneaker with sustainable materials
The most distinctive feature is the use of 50% PRIMEGREEN, adidas’ proprietary high-performance recycled material. The upper is made of recycled polyester with a special coating to reproduce the texture of leather, combined with an outsole made of natural rubber and waste rubber, and shoelaces and liners made of recycled materials. The iconic silhouette of the “Stan Smith” is retained, but updated into a sustainable pair.
