“Capybaras Watermelon Party” will be held at Harvest Hill, Sakai Green Museum, Osaka. The schedule is for three days, July 31 (Sat), August 7 (Sat), and August 21 (Sat), 2021.
Capybaras Watermelon Party
“The “Capybara Watermelon Party” is a unique summer event where watermelon, a favorite food with high water content, is given to the capybaras in the park to prevent heat stroke. During the event, all five capybaras will be given a cut of watermelon each, and you can watch their adorable faces as they munch away with relish.
You can also enjoy watching the capybaras eat the watermelon as the zookeepers “live feed” the animals to see who will finish eating it first. It is said that some of the capybaras are even strong enough to eat the “rind” of the watermelon.
