New Matcha flavored ice cream from Lotte and Meiji, respectively! Lotte has been selling “Sou Umami Matcha Frappe (Matcha & Vanilla) ” since March 15. Meiji will release Essel Super Cup Sweet’s Uji Matcha Tiramisu on March 29.
Sou Umami Matcha Frappe (Matcha & Vanilla)
A new flavor, Umami Matcha Frappe (Matcha & Vanilla), is now available from Sou, an ice cream with fine ice and a crunchy texture. It is a blend of matcha ice cream and vanilla ice cream, inspired by the popular matcha frozen drinks at cafes.
The matcha ice cream is made with a blend of tea leaves to achieve a perfect balance of moderate bitterness and flavor. The ice cream is made with delicate ice, so you can enjoy a refreshing mouthfeel from the moment you eat it, and it has a rich yet clean aftertaste.
Meiji Essel Super Cup Sweet’s Uji Green Tea Tiramisu
The first “Japanese flavor” in the “Essel Super Cup Sweet’s” series
The first “Japanese flavor” in the Meiji Essel Super Cup Sweet’s series is now available. The new product is a Japanese sweet that expresses the taste of Uji green tea tiramisu, with a focus on the thick green tea sauce.
The ice cream is a “layered” ice cream dessert consisting of “green tea ice cream” with the elegant flavor of Uji green tea and “mascarpone cheese ice cream” with the richness of milk. In between the two types of ice cream, a green tea sauce made from a generous amount of Uji green tea is placed to add a deep bitterness and elegant umami taste.
The topping is a lightly textured matcha cookie. As you continue to eat, the layers of matcha cookies, mascarpone cheese ice cream, thick matcha sauce, and matcha ice cream combine to create a complex flavor. The key to a good taste is to use a large spoon to scoop up all the layers.

Feature item of the day
I highly recommend this! It dissolves easily in milk, so you can make matcha milk, sprinkle it on to change the taste to matcha, or even use it in baking!
