Enjoy the feeling of traveling through food!

Swissotel Nankai Osaka has set “Traveling with Food” as the theme for its food and beverage department in 2021, with the hope that guests will feel like they have traveled to various regions through food.

The hotel has recently entered into a partnership with a Yame tea production area to offer a safe “food journey” based on the ALLSAFE certification. For a limited time, the hotel will offer afternoon tea that will make you feel like you are in the tea fields of Yame.

Yame tea is characterized by its sweet, full-bodied, and rich umami taste.

Yame tea is a tea with a long history, said to have originated in 1423, when Zen Master Eirin Shuzui brought back tea seeds and methods for growing and manufacturing roasted tea from Ming Dynasty (present-day China).

Yame tea, which is produced at the highest level from cultivation in the tea fields to processing, is known throughout the country as a high-grade tea, and has won the top prize in the Gyokuro category of the National Tea Competition for many years.
