As part of FamilyMart’s “More Delicious” initiative, one of the five keywords it has been working on since last year, FamilyMart is introducing a variety of matcha products, including those produced by Kanbayashi Shunsho Honten, a long-established Uji matcha tea shop, and by tea master Haruhide Morita, who supervises the production of the tea. The “Uji Matcha Mare” event will feature 15 original products including sweets, ices, confectionaries, and drinks that use an abundance of matcha green tea, and will be available at approximately 16,600 FamilyMart stores nationwide from April 5 (Tue) to April 25 (Mon), 2022!

A total of 15 types of original products made with matcha green tea from Kanbayashi Shunsho Honten are now on sale!
The “Uji Matcha Mare” lineup will feature a total of 15 limited-time offerings, including matcha from the 450-year-old Kanbayashi Shunsho Honten, the sole descendant of the Uji Gosha Master, and Family Mart’s original blend of Kyoto Prefecture Uji matcha produced by tea master Haruhide Morita.

Uji green tea raw chocolate tart
This sweet treat allows you to enjoy the luxurious co-starring of green tea gateau chocolat & raw chocolate in a crispy tart crust. The delicious matcha green tea produced in Kyoto Prefecture is used among the Uji matcha green tea produced under the supervision of the Kanbayashi Shunsho Honten.
Uji green tea raw chocolate cake (4 pieces)
Raw chocolate rice cake with a distinctive flavor of matcha green tea both inside and out. Matcha raw chocolate made with Uji matcha green tea supervised by Kanbayashi Shunsho Honten is wrapped in mochi dough and covered with luxurious Uji matcha powder on the outside.
Uji green tea mochi monaka ice cream
Japanese-style monaka ice cream using Uji green tea supervised by Kanbayashi Shunsho Honten, with “green tea ice cream × tsubuan (bean paste) × mochi (rice cake)”. Tsubuan (sweet bean paste) made from Hokkaido Tokachi azuki beans and mochi (rice cake) cooked in-house by the manufacturer are used. The crispy outside and sticky inside allow you to enjoy the flavors and textures of the ingredients.

The waffle cone ice cream has a crunchy and mild texture, combining matcha ice cream with the delicious taste of Uji matcha green tea supervised by Kanbayashi Shunsho Honten and savory sugar cones made from whole wheat flour. The delicious taste of Uji matcha ice cream and the fragrant sugar cone are a perfect match.

This is the fourth in Famima’s “Fluffy Cake Omelette” series, which focuses on specialty-quality mouthfeel and taste. Matcha & White Strawberry Chocolate
Enjoy the sweetness of chocolate and the tartness of strawberries in a single piece of chocolate. Two layers of white chocolate and matcha chocolate made from Uji matcha tea produced in Kyoto are covered with freeze-dried strawberries. Sustainable cacao is used.
