The “Art Aquarium Exhibition: Osaka: The Luster of Goldfish” is currently being held at the Dojima River Forum in Osaka. The exhibition will run from July 7 (Wed.) to September 5 (Sun.), 2021.

Art Aquarium,” created by artist and producer Hidetomo Kimura, is an aquatic art exhibition that displays goldfish and other aquatic creatures swimming beautifully. This time, the exhibition is being held at the Dojima River Forum in Osaka for the first time in five years since 2016.

At the venue, there will be a number of noteworthy exhibits, such as the “Cho-Hanakai,” a giant goldfish bowl with about 3,000 goldfish swimming in it, the “Kimonorium,” a competition of traditional craftsmanship, 3D projection mapping and goldfish, and the “Lotusarium,” a work with a lotus flower motif, which will make its first appearance in Osaka. Visitors will be able to enjoy the splendor of goldfish swimming beautifully with fantastic lighting and music.

Of these, the “Sekiteirium,” which is making its first appearance in Osaka along with the “Kimonorium” and “Lotus-ium,” is the most notable. Inspired by the stone garden, one of the styles of Japanese gardens, visitors can experience a unique world where goldfish dance beautifully in a water tank that resembles a stone.
The “Kirikorium” is also one of the exhibits making its first appearance in Osaka. Using the cut-glass method, one of the characteristics of Edo Kiriko, visitors can enjoy the mysterious sensation of seeing goldfish through the glass, whether viewed from above or from the side.
