“Summer night water” to enjoy at the Sumida Aquarium at night
Sumida Aquarium’s “Natsu no Yosui” is a summer-only event held at the aquarium on a calm night. In 2023, the event will be held for the third time, and the “Sumida Jellyfish Hanabi” will be held, where you can enjoy a retro atmosphere with neon signs and images of jellyfish and fireworks.
“Sumida Jellyfish Hanabi” with Neon Signs “Jellyfish x Fireworks”
At “Sumida Jellyfish Hanabi”, the walls surrounding the “Big Petri dish”, a basin-shaped aquarium with about 500 moon jellyfish, are decorated with colorful neon signs themed on jellyfish and fireworks. You can appreciate jellyfish swimming elegantly in a nostalgic retro space.
“Kaleidoscope Tunnel” also appeared in a retro atmosphere
Also pay attention to the 50-meter jellyfish exhibition “Kaleidoscope Tunnel” with about 5,000 mirrors. Projecting images inspired by “Sumida Jellyfish Hanabi”, we propose a fantastic and romantic atmosphere with jellyfish floating in the aquarium.
Limited drinks and gourmet at “Penguin Bar LIMITED” after 17:00
In addition, during the period, the “Penguin Cafe” inside the building will appear as “Penguin Bar LIMITED” only after 17:00. We offer an original menu in a neon space decorated with electric signboards and tabletop lights.
The menu includes the night-only drinks “Shining Red Jellyfish Cocktail” and “Shining Red Jellyfish Juice”, which are made to look like red jellyfish tanks, with bright pink lemonade syrup and shiny ice-shaped cubes. Hot dogs topped with bubu arare, such as the Kirakira Hanabi Cheese Dog, are available.
