Mister Donut has collaborated with Gion Tsujiri, a specialty store of Uji tea in Kyoto, to create a limited edition donut called “misdo meets Gion Tsujiri Vol. 2,” which went on sale at stores nationwide on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 for a limited time.

The “misdo meets Gion Tsujiri Second Phase,” following the first phase in March 2022, will feature limited edition doughnuts kneaded with Gion Tsujiri’s highly aromatic “Uji Hojicha” tea. The two types of donuts, “Old Fashioned Uji-Hojicha Whipped” and “Old Fashioned Uji-Hojicha”, based on Mister Donut’s popular “Old Fashioned” menu item, will be the centerpiece of the new lineup.
Old Fashioned Uji-Hojicha Whipped
The “Old Fashioned Uji-Hojicha Whipped” is a special product with an old fashioned dough kneaded with Uji hojicha and topped with a strawbaked rice cake filling and hojicha whipped topping. The addition of hojicha honey enhances the aromatic and mellow flavor of the hojicha.

The Old Fashioned Uji Hojicha, on the other hand, features an old fashioned dough kneaded with Uji hojicha and dipped in a hojicha glaze. The top surface is sprinkled with “glitter” toppings to create a cute and delicious doughnut.
Popular every year! Pont de Ring with Uji green tea
This year, the popular Pon de Ring doughnut series will again feature Uji matcha green tea from Gion Tsujiri kneaded into the sticky texture of the dough. The lineup includes three types of doughnuts: “Pon de Double Uji Matcha” with Uji matcha chocolate coating, “Pon de Uji Matcha Azuki” with Hokkaido adzuki beans and Uji matcha whipped cream, and “Pon de Uji Matcha Warabi Mochi” with Uji matcha chocolate and glitter topping, topped with strawbimochi filling and Uji matcha whipped cream. The lineup includes a total of three types of mochi.
