Kaiyukan Illumination 2022″ will be held around Kaiyukan, Osaka from today! The period is from Friday, November 18, 2022 to Sunday, March 5, 2023.
20-meter high tree and penguin & dolphin sculptures
The Kaiyukan Illumination is an annual winter event that will be held for the 18th time in 2022. Under the theme of “Wa of Life,” the 20-meter-high Christmas tree, penguin and dolphin objets d’art, and other objects will be illuminated, illuminating the entire Kaiyukan area with a soft and warm glow.
The “Ring of Fire” and the “Ring of Life” are light and sound effects that take place every 15 minutes. The “Ring of Fire” uses warm colors of light to express the violent life force of the earth like an eruption, while the “Ring of Life” uses cool colors of light to express the ocean, forests, and the heartbeat of life.
“Santa Claus Diver” in the tank!
From November 26 (Sat) to December 25 (Sun), “Santa Divers” dressed as Santa Claus will appear in the tanks. Santa Divers will appear in the “Pacific Ocean” tank, where whale sharks and other species live, and the “Tasman Sea” tank, where Pacific white-sided dolphins live, waving to visitors and taking photos to celebrate the Christmas season.
