Hawaii Fair 2022″ will be held at the Hankyu Umeda main store in Osaka from July 13 (Wed.) to July 18 (Mon.), 2022 at the Festival Plaza on the 9th floor.
Hawaii Fair 2022″ 80 stores including gourmet foods and sundries
Hankyu Umeda’s popular annual “Hawaii Fair” will make a comeback in 2022. The event will feature a total of 80 stores, including 25 stores making their first appearance, offering popular gourmet foods that can only be tasted in Hawaii and items that give a sense of Hawaii.
Pink-colored pancakes and sweets for the first time in Japan
From Hawaiian Gourmet, “Pink Palace Pancakes,” popular pancakes at the Royal Hawaiian resort hotel in Hawaii, are now available. The cute pink pancakes are topped with sweet and sour strawberries, blueberries, and other fruits. Coconut sauce is added for a milky flavor.
Soft-serve ice cream made from ube (purple yam), Hawaii’s soul food, is also available. The soft serve ice cream mixes the purple color of ube with the bright green color of the pandan leaf plant, creating a visual impact of purple and green. Ube is also used to make cheesecake, macaroons, and other sweet treats.
In addition, nine food brands will make their first appearance at the “Hawaii Fair,” including chocolates from KOHO, Hawaii’s first high-end chocolate shop in Japan, white honey from Rare Hawaiian Honey, and junmai ginjo from Islander Sake Brewery, the only sake brewery in Hawaii.
Unique Hawaiian goods
Local goods from Hawaii are also in the spotlight. Sail Bag Sma’ui” bags made from kitesurfing kites are available in a colorful lineup of pop colors. Ua Body organic cosmetics are made in Hawaii using Hawaiian botanicals and are suitable for both men and women.
Other items include a wide variety of kitchen towels from the Downtown General Store, which are upcycled flour sacks, bound notebooks from Kuro’s Workshop, which are made from raw wood from Hawaii, and Hawaiian jewelry.
And an exhibition of Hawaiian-themed artwork.
In addition, an exhibition of Hawaii-themed works will be held from July 6 (Wed.) to July 18 (Mon.), 2022, with free admission. A variety of art prints and photo prints will be on display, including original paintings depicting the ocean, plants, and other aspects of Hawaii’s nature.
