“Red and White” Christmas Cake for 2022
Park Hyatt Kyoto will be offering two types of Christmas cakes using “Kyoto’s gourmet ingredients” with “red and white” as the key colors for 2022.
The Christmas Shortcake, with its bright red color, is filled with strawberries grown in Kyoto. The sponge cake is also made with Kyoto’s finest ingredients, such as Miyama eggs from Nantan City, Kyoto Prefecture.
The fluffy sponge cake is covered with a rich Jersey cream chantilly cream. The Christmas shortcake is a classic Christmas shortcake with the perfect sweet and sour taste of Kyoto strawberries.
Meanwhile, the “Tanba Chestnut and Yuzu Mousse Cake” is a “pure white” mousse cake inspired by a white Christmas. The sweet and fragrant Tanba chestnut mousse plays a leading role in the cake, which is paired with a refreshing yuzu (citron) cream.
The yuzu used is a rare variety produced in Mizuo, Kyoto. The aromatic and deep-flavored yuzu is a perfect match for the rich marron mousse, and enhances the umami of each ingredient.
Christmas Sweets with Black Soybeans & Tanba Chestnuts
At the same time, Park Hyatt Kyoto will also sell sweets that will bring excitement to the Christmas season. In collaboration with Sanso Kyoyamato, the lineup includes stollen filled with black beans from Tanba and panettone mixed with Tanba chestnuts boiled in astringent skin.
