Hotel New Otani’s three directly managed hotels (Tokyo, Makuhari, and Osaka) have started accepting pre-orders for the 2021 Christmas cake “SUPER CHRISTMAS CAKE 2021” from October 1, 2021 (Fri.).

Hotel New Otani’s Christmas cakes, which use an abundance of the finest ingredients, are one of the most popular in both name and reality, with sales recorded at 196% of the previous year’s level in 2020. In 2021, a wide variety of cakes will be available, from the popular royal cake to a special Christmas cake.
Melon and strawberry, two leading cakes fused together in “Super Double Shortcake
Of particular note is the “Super Double Shortcake,” which combines the two main sweets of Hotel New Otani’s Patisserie SATSUKI. The cake is filled with muskmelons from Shizuoka Prefecture with a sugar content of 14 degrees or higher, and Hakata Amao, a leading brand of strawberries, making it an ideal cake for a holy night.
New Extra Super Amaou Shortcake, the royal shortcake
The “New Extra Super Amaou Shortcake” is a top-of-the-line shortcake filled with juicy, sweet, bright red “Hakata Amaou”. Two types of batter, one using “brown rice eggs” from chickens raised on brown rice and the other using the hotel’s original “J Cereal” millet, and fresh cream made with wasanbon and almond milk cream. All the ingredients that make up the cake have been carefully selected to make this a royal and special shortcake.
