Osaka Takashimaya will sell “Tanabata Sweets” at the food section on the ground floor of the Takashimaya Osaka store until July 7, 2021 (Wed.).

The Takashimaya Osaka store will be offering a variety of Tanabata sweets with motifs of Orihime, Hikoboshi, stars, and strips of paper. From the romantic love of Orihime and Hikoboshi, who meet only once a year, to the colorful desserts that will enliven the Tanabata Festival, also known as “Summer Valentine’s Day”.
From Equateur, the first chocolate specialty store in Osaka, comes chocolates with motifs of the moon, stars, and sun. The mint chocolate is made by combining bitter chocolate with refreshing mint, and is perfect for hot summer days.
From Forma, a marble-patterned rare cheese cake called “Milky Way,” inspired by the night sky of Tanabata, will be available as a Tanabata limited edition sweet. The cake combines a blackcurrant-flavored cheese mousse made with unsalted cream cheese with a mascarpone and yogurt cheese mousse made with raw milk from Mt Zaoh.
Also, don’t miss the Tanabata “Japanese sweets” released by Japanese confectionary stores. The lineup includes Tsuruya Hachiman’s colorful wagashi “Gan no Ito” with a motif of colored strips of paper, Kogetsu’s “Tanabata Mochi” made with gold leaf and azuki beans to look like the Milky Way, and Taneya’s “Tanabata-no-Sekku Hoshiakari” that represents the night sky of Tanabata.
In addition to sweets, the food department will also offer Tanabata menus, including Minokichi’s “Tanabata Chirashi Sushi,” perfect for Tanabata dinner, and Dotonbori Imai’s “Tanabata Bento – Wish Upon a Star.
