The St. Regis Hotel, Osaka, will offer a limited edition early summer afternoon tea set, “Caroline’s Garden Tea Party,” from Friday, May 13 to Wednesday, August 31, 2022.
Early Summer Limited Afternoon Tea at St. Regis Hotel Osaka
The motif of this year’s afternoon tea is Caroline Astor, a symbol of the Astor family, the founding family of the St. Regis, and a leader of New York society in the late 19th century. The afternoon tea style was inspired by a garden party held at the St. Regis in the late 19th century, which was attended by a select group of guests and decorated with flowers that were Mrs. Astor’s favorites.
Welcome drink “Botanical Gift”
First to greet guests at their table is the Botanical Gift, a welcome drink inspired by the botanical garden. Butterfly pea syrup and grenadine syrup are mixed with tonic and topped with chamomile flower tea jelly for an elegant aroma.
Sweets and savories inspired by an elegant garden party
Lined up on the afternoon tea stand decorated with beautiful flowers are dainty sweets and savories made with refreshing citrus fruits that remind us of early summer, such as lemon and lime, and healthy ingredients such as herbs, Greek yogurt, and whole grains.
A variety of visually gorgeous menu items are available, including “Lime Cheesecake” that is as transparent as a hydrangea in the rain, “Botanical Herb Jelly,” a three-layer lychee, hibiscus, and herb jelly with a pretty butterfly perched on a glass, and whole grain scones with grapefruit peel, served with olive oil-scented lemon curd.
